A gasket manufacturing company had a problem with a Yewco guillotine. The phosphor bronze bush on the fly wheel had worn. As the
machine had been purchased some years previously, OEM parts were no longer available.
A Vesconite Hilube bush, 100 mm (4") outside diameter by 80 mm (3.2") inside diameter and 100 mm (4") long was used to replace
the phosphor bronze bush.
The manufacturer experienced difficulties with a second guillotine when an old ACE guillotine started to vibrate. The machine was
stripped down for investigation and it was discovered that the bronze gear shaft bush was worn.
This phosphor bronze bush was replaced with a Vesconite Hilube bush, 130 mm (5") outside diameter by 120 mm (4.7") inside diameter
and 100 mm (4") long.
Both guillotines run for approximately 10 hours a day and are lubricated once every second week.
Vesconite Hilube bushes have been operating for a number of years. To date both machines are performing as expected.
