The Linck Framesaw is not water cooled and requires an expensive high grade lubricant.

To reduce the lubricant consumption the brass slippers were replaced with Hitemp 150 (plate 240 mm x 90 mm x 15 mm)(9.4" x 3.5" - 0.6"), a specially formulated high temperature resistant grade which can withstand temperatures up to 160^oC (320^oF). After fitting the slippers, the oil feed rate was reduced by 50%.

The change to Hitemp 150 resulted in the following improvements:

• Lubricant consumption reduced by more than half, a major cost saving due to the expensive nature of the special grade of lubricant required.
