A Screw Conveyor Batching Plant was having problems with the centre liner bearing on the cement screw conveyor. It was necessary
to replace this bronze plain bearing on average 5 times a year. This resulted in costly down time.
The bronze bushes were seizing due to lack of lubrication. A bearing that could operate without lubrication, in a dirty, highly
abrasive environment was needed. Vesconite Hilube was recommended. For a shaft diameter of 45 mm (1.8") and a housing size of 65
mm (2.5"), a 65 x 40 mm (2.5" x 1.5") bushing was machined to size.
- Vesconite Hilube lasted three times longer than the bronze
- Less downtime, lower costs
